ꜱᴄᴇɴᴛ                   Akin to an icy storm, Mithrak's scent is cold like the grave, a seemingly perpetual cold breeze wrapped around his being. With notes of seasalt and smoke, it is as though the wind itself were made to tell a tale of a burning ship lost at sea. Yet, beneath it all, one might the scent of damp earth, moss, and petrichor.ᴠᴏɪᴄᴇ ᴄʟᴀɪᴍ          Link, Link (TW: Gore) | A deep rasp that resonates in the air. Like crushed charcoal and burning coals, Mithrak's voice is distinct, though he seldom speaks. Often preferring to speak through his eyes, guarded as they are. When he does speak... it is rarely to the benefit of another.ᴀᴇᴛʜᴇʀ                  Rotten and frigid. Mithrak is highly aspected towards ice and his aether is unstable. To those with aethersight, a mere glance at him alone may cause one's eyes to burn from its intensity. Though not from the brightness of light, but rather the deepness of the void and the sour notes that accompany it.

ᴅᴇꜱᴄʀɪᴘᴛɪᴏɴ       A dark countenance paired with gleaming crimson eyes and an alluring smile, a creature from the dark beckons. With charcoal skin, and horns seemingly hewn from blackened stone, Mithrak is an intimidating figure to behold. His scales are the color of onyx, dark, rigid, and sharply cut like broken glass, with a smattering of dull gray that covers his arms, chest, and legs. Depending on the time of year, these patches of gray may lend themselves to a more vibrant and stark white, though the dull sheen of his scales, unkempt and neglected, still remains.Standing at 244 cm, Mithrak towers over those around him, with long ashen hair streaked in black and keen red eyes that shine with an animalistic hunger. Covered in countless scars, they cross over both scale and flesh alike, marking countless battles won in the fighting pits of Kugane and many years spent in servitude to a brutal lord. Most notable of the xaela's features are his horns. Far too numerous to be normal, and covered in harsh ridges. In addition to the aurals one might see on an au ra, two large horns rise from his crown and curve towards the back of his head. Amidst thick hair, one might also find four long spines that rise out from his skin in pairs that run parallell to one another from the back of his neck. Similarly, a series of modified scales protrude from the outer portions of his arms along the elbows. Closer in appearance to spikes than the smooth scales that cover the bodies of most au ra. Paired with a long, forked, and crimson tongue and a whip-like tail with serrated spines, to a discerning and educated eye his draconic heritage is evident, but to many Mithrak is seen not as man, but monster.

Miscellaneous / Trivia

ᴀᴜɢᴍᴇɴᴛᴇᴅ- Born too early and far too small, Mithrak's brief time in the Steppe was riddled with challenges. This only worsened further upon his capture and delivery to the pits of Kugane's illegal fighting rings. In the beginning, his violent nature warded off many and afforded him protection. However, as his opponents grew larger with age and he began to fall behind, the lord who owned him grew displeased. By then, he had established a name for himself, with many of the Garlean occupation eager to experiment upon the hybrid. His lord was all too pleased to accept their requests.ᴠᴏɪᴅʙᴏᴜɴᴅ - Forcibly bound to the void, something stirs deep inside the xaela. It is unclear when it first appeared, but it has sunk deep. Infusing with every fiber of his being, it craves blood, willing the already deeply volatile creature it inhabits to further inflict violence upon those around it. Pray you do not draw its ire or find yourself otherwise subject to its whims.ʀᴇᴠᴇɴᴀɴᴛ - Said to have been brought back from the clutches of death itself, Mithrak is the ghost that haunts Kugane and its neighboring territories. Those well versed in the folklore of the sea may have heard of the Sinking of the Crimson Wyrm, a merchant vessel lost at sea many years ago. It is unclear as to what happened to it and its crew, but the local fisherman suspect Mithrak to be involved.ᴄᴀɴɴɪʙᴀʟɪꜱᴛɪᴄ - The Steppe was a brutal place, and Kugane's criminal underbelly even more so. Mithrak has had to resort to all manner of methods to survive, including cannibalizing those of his own species. It began when he was a child and has severely warped his mind. While he will not actively hunt those around him for sustenance, should the question of survival come to bear... he is not opposed to seeking out alternative methods of nourishment.ᴍᴏᴅɪꜰɪᴇᴅ ꜱᴄᴀʟᴇꜱ - Pitch black and mottled gray, with sharp and jagged edges, the xae'dra's scales appear more akin to broken glass than that of an au ra. Modified spines run down the length of his back, covering the vertebrae and lifting in response to certain stimuli. Similar spines may be found along the outer portions of his arms, though they appear much harder and thicker, like armor.

Mithrak is an intimidating figure, in both appearance and demeanor, who often drawns the gaze of many, even when they may wish not to. To some, his voice is like a siren's call and, to others, his presence akin to a lurking threat. Impossible to ignore lest one willingly give themselves to the waiting beast.Though he seldom speaks, Mithrak is what one might call a social chameleon. Commanding at times, but equally capable of feigning gentleness, although it is merely that. A carefully orchestrated act to manipulate whomever necessary to get exactly what he desires. Those wizened to his ways, few as they are, may describe the xaela to be a selfish man with little, if any, regard for others.Often perceived as rather abrasive, Mithrak's direct manner of speaking can draw the ire of many, but it is done more so out of a clear disregard for his own personal safety than genuine desire to be cruel. Countless years spent in the illegal fighting pits of Kugane and his subsequent deaths and forced revivals have since buried the last shreds of his humanity, leaving behind not a man but a monster.Obsessive in nature, once something has caught his attention, Mithrak will pursue it to the ends of the realm in his effort to obtain it. Deeply loyal and possessive, he is exceedingly protective - or more accurately territorial - over what he believes to be his and will rip, tear, and even go so far as to kill anything that might try to separate him from it. To become the object of his obsession is to be cursed with great misfortune.Yet, beneath it all, one might spy something else. A deep longing for something different. Decades spent in the pits have reduced Mithrak to nothing more than an animal, his sense of companionship and view of the world severely warped. But something still remains, though withered and dying. Something that yearns to feel more than gnawing hunger, bitter cold, and the endless need for bloodshed.

Vices

ᴄᴏᴍʙᴀᴛ          Raised in blood, bound by chains, and tempered by violence, all Mithrak has ever known was the dark of the underground and the narrow bars of his cage. Denied a childhood, he was made to fight for the entertainment and sport of others from his earliest memories, warping his perception of reality. Thus, combat is the only place where he truly feels alive.ᴄɪɢᴀʀᴇᴛᴛᴇꜱ    Mithrak is often in a perpetual state of cold. Because of this, he is naturally drawn to warmth. Be that a campfire, a roaring fireplace, the desert, or in the form of cigarettes.

Connections

??? • Lord • Aliveᴅᴇꜱᴄʀɪᴘᴛɪᴏɴ       A mysterious and enigmatic lord who rules over Kugane and much of the far East from the shadows. He has owned Mithrak since he was young, taking a keen interest in the hybrid's unique heritage, and has simultaneously been the source of great cruelty and 'kindess' in equal measure. His obsession for the hybrid waxes and wanes, sometimes affording him great freedom and other times more restrictive than any vice. It is he who ordered that Mithrak be augmented, and he who forced him into the ring time and time again. Mithrak despises him, but also feels a twisted sense of affection.

Ren • ??? • Aliveᴅᴇꜱᴄʀɪᴘᴛɪᴏɴ       A viera who sought to show kindness when Mithrak did not need, nor want, it. A warm drink on a cold night, in a place forgotten and out of sight. One thing led to another, and blood was spilled, but rather than scold or flee from a dog who had only ever known to bite, he instead soothed him. Bloodied hands lost between gentle whispers, Mithrak finds Ren's selfelessness and desire to show him kindness to be deeply unsettling.

Noda • ??? gentle giant • Aliveᴅᴇꜱᴄʀɪᴘᴛɪᴏɴ       [TBA], relationship is currently being developed.

Solas • ??? • Aliveᴅᴇꜱᴄʀɪᴘᴛɪᴏɴ       A strange and unusual miqo'te whose form is more akin to a lion than the typical variants of the East. Mithrak stumbled upon the man during one of his rounds of Kugane. Upon learning that the miqo'te could not speak the language, he made the, in his opinion, terrible mistake of offering aid in the form of directions. However, rather than take heed of his words and parting ways, the miqo'te chose to follow him instead, much to Mithrak's annoyance.

Baiju • Hostile • Aliveᴅᴇꜱᴄʀɪᴘᴛɪᴏɴ       An unusual xaela and raen hybrid with whom Mithrak has only had a few chance encounters with in the past. Baiju was formerly the warhound of an allied Eastern lord, but killed his master and fled into the night many years ago. Mithrak has since been tasked with bringing him back by any means necessary. Subsequent encounters have yielded limited results, as both hybrids are matched in their violence. Each meeting has resulted in a bloodbath, leaving one or the other near mortally wounded and forced to flee. Mithrak's obsessive nature ultimately led to the man fleeing from the East entirely and to a land he cannot reach, resulting in his master punishing him severely. Recently, word has reached him that the hybrid has returned to the East, though for what purpose is not yet clear. Mithrak now seeks to reclaim his quary and fulfill the task bestowed upon him by his master. Dead or alive, he intends to keep his word.

ᴀʙᴏᴜᴛ ᴍᴇ             I am a hobbyist digital artist, roleplayer, and MD PhD Student who specializes in mental health research and treatment regarding PTSD.ɪɴᴛᴇʀᴇsᴛs (ɪɢ)     RPing, making art, decorating houses, throwing rude party members (and friends) off into the abyss as the healer, 'raiding' (Does dying count?), being the worstbest tank(tm), etc.

StyleMulti-paragraph - novella roleplay, story-oriented, quality over quantity.
ThemesAll. Favored: Dark, Mature, Slowburn Romance*, Fluff, Horror, Angst, etc.
ExperienceOver 15 years.
MethodDiscord for long term, ingame for short episodic roleplay (<1-3 hours)
Short / Long TermOpen, Long Term roleplay preferred.
Mature RPI enjoy RPing darker themes and will happily listen to potential plots.
ERPVaries. Approach OOC first.
I WillLorebend when necessary so long as it makes sense, rp dark themes (must be discussed first), etc.
I Won'tRoleplay with one-liners, those under 21, god modders, meta gamers, self-inserts, lore breakers, IC/OOC mixers, ERP alts.

RP Preference and Availability

( Disclaimer )........ I am a very direct person and my tone may appear blunt at times. While I do my best to mitigate this, speaking over text can be difficult. I ask that you be patient and understand this is not my intention.

* Interested in romancing my character? Please note that, while I am happy to plot out romance, my characters are strictly monogamous. AU romances are fine and can take a variety of forms, from FWBs, one offs, to something deeper. However, these will not carry over into my character's canonical storyline unless discussed prior. I also do not typically write PwP romances and have a strong preferrence for slowburn and genuine connections. Once a character has a canonical partner, these AUs will cease

Ground Rules

1 . I prefer to rp with those of a similar style to my own and those who will actively contribute to the rp's story. I generally write more than most people on FF, as I am an old style forum roleplayer and lean more towards novella than multi-para. The minimum I write is usually a few paragraphs per post, though this may vary.2 . When it comes to IC and OOC, I keep them separate. I am not my character, nor do they represent my personal beliefs or behaviors. I expect my RP partners to be mature enough to make this distinction and do the same.3 . If I feel that our styles, characters, or something does not mesh well, I will tell you. If I lose interest in an RP or feel uncomfortable, you will be informed and we can work it out. However, I in turn expect those I RP with to do the same and communicate properly with me.4 . Keep in mind basic RP etiquette when power scaling and the lore surrounding such things. My characters are often low-moderate in power, and I do not RP with WoLs or other typically game breaking individuals without prior discussion.5 . My characters do not do well with easily spooked, clingy, or overly anxious characters. While usually kind to varying degrees, they are often times serious and will not coddle you and are more direct than most. Please keep this in mind. I also find 'sub' coded characters to be exceptionally irritating.
